The Perth Mint is pleased to present the Australian Kangaroo 1oz Silver Bullion Coin. The Australian kangaroo is a large marsupial endemic to Australia. Identified by its muscular tail, strong back legs, large feet, short fur, and long, pointed ears, the animal has become a much-loved national icon. Struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver in bullion quality, the coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 with an unlimited mintage.
Due to widely available stock levels for all years of this coin from 2015 onwards, boxes of Silver Kangaroos may be dated any year from 2015 onwards. Generally you will receive current-year dated stock, but if you wish to guarantee the current year’s coin when buying a box, please order 250 coins from the single coin listings, and you will be guaranteed that year.
The reverse of the silver kangaroo coin depicts the classic artistry of a bounding red kangaroo surrounded by rays of sunlight. Issued as Australian legal tender, the obverse of each coin bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the year-date.
The coin includes an authentication feature on the reverse. In the form of a micro-laser engraved letter within the coin’s AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO heading, it is only detectable under a magnifying glass. The authentication feature is designed to make it significantly more difficult for the coin to be counterfeited providing peace of mind to our customers.
This bullion coin is presented without capsule in protective acrylic tubes of 25 coins. There are 10 tubes to a monster box.
